Adult Faith Formation

During the seasons of Lent and Advent, Adult Faith formation takes place in the form of small discussion groups. Opening up the gospels of Lent and Advent and reflecting on them using Lectio Divina.
During Covid 19 these sessions have been held via zoom.
During lent we use the Liturgy Brisbane Lenten resource and during Advent, we use the Wollongong program however this year 2021-The Archdiocese of Melbourne has produced “Grace of Waiting” program and we will be using this program.
Parishioners are highly encouraged to join a group via zoom or take the program and use it at home for their personal reflection.

Christian Meditation is silent prayer.
Meditation is a universal spiritual tradition. We find it in all the great wisdom traditions of the human family. Meditation takes us to the depths of our being, to our true self, and to the pure experience of God in the ground of our being. It opens up the common ground that lies at the heart of our shared humanity.
Christian Meditation as taught by Fr. John Main and The World Community for Christian mediation draws from the wisdom of the Gospel’s teachings and the later monastic tradition.
In the light of this wisdom, we see that the teaching of Jesus on prayer is a contemplative teaching.
In the early monastic tradition we find the practical instructions on how to pray in what Jesus called the “inner room” and “in spirit and truth”. We also find insight and wisdom into the meaning of this experience. To learn more about Christian Meditation just come along and meditate with us. Experience is the teacher.
The Christian Meditation group meets via zoom every Thursday between 2 and 3pm.
If you would like to join this group please contact the Parish Office.
